Access to the John Curtin Prime Ministerial Library is currently restricted to visitors by appointment in order to protect the health and safety of our community. Please contact the JCPML for more information.
Reference services
Reference services offered by JCPML staff support and assist users to discover and access material in the collection.
Researchers wishing to make in depth use of the collection are requested to contact the JCPML to discuss the purpose and scope of the proposed research, the material they expect to use, any deadlines for the research and possible copying requirements.
Researchers visiting the JCPML are required to provide ID to access collection material or use the Reading Room facilities.
We are happy to answer reference enquiries, but please note that staff will place time limits on the amount of complex or lengthy research undertaken for individual enquiries.
Reading room facilities
The reading room provides the following facilities for researchers:
- Computers for searching the collection and viewing online material
- Network printing for Curtin staff and students
- Wireless access
- Microfilm reader
- Audio visual players
- Reference collection of relevant secondary works is held in the Reading Room and can be searched via the Curtin University Library Catalogue.
Copying archival collection material
Photocopying of archival material is undertaken by staff for some material. We prefer you to bring a device to take photographs rather than request photocopies as older and fragile material may not be photocopied. Not all material may be copied – please check with staff first.
